Landscape Foreman

The landscape foreman's responsibilities include overseeing the construction of outdoor spaces and maintaining existing grounds, monitoring and training workers, supervising the use of equipment, ensuring staff observe safety guidelines and protocols, and completing various administrative duties.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years experience as a foreman or crew leader

  • Knowledge of plants, hardscape construction with natural stone, and managing a crew for our maintenance services.

  • 5 day work week with overtime available

  • 45-50+ during peak season, * Some part-time work available during the off-season

  • Saturdays as needed

  • Pesticide applicators license or willingness to obtain

  • Must have a valid license

Experience:

  • Landscaping: 2 years minimum

  • Landscape Foreman: 1 year minimum



Tasks as Crew Leader:

  • Nursery & Grower assistance

  • Grounds

  • Inventory manager

  • Retail

  • Plant “geek”

Landscaping Apprentice

People who carry out landscaping jobs across residential, commercial and large public settings. In this career path you will maintain and plant trees, lawns, flowers and hedges. You will also be involved in constructing pathways, retaining walls, water features and other outdoor structures.

Requirements:

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Able to acquire a Fort Bragg access pass – Clean background

  • Previous landscape installation employment experience preferred

  • Ability to work outdoors during extreme heat and/or cold weather

  • Physical fitness levels to perform job tasks

  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds

  • Ability to speak/read/write in English

Expectations:

  • Comply with and obey all company policies/procedures and safety requirements

  • Read and follow all company established plans, material lists, and guidelines

  • Work as part of a team and take direction from management

  • Use all tools, equipment, and machinery properly and in a safe manner

  • Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times

Executive Secretary

Joe Jrs Landscapes is currently looking to hire a skilled clerical Executive Secretary. This position will be responsible for maintaining financial records, creating estimates and invoices, and facilitating communication among company departments. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, able to prioritize work assignments as they come in, and capable of working without supervision.

Requirments 

Experience Required: 

Someone with a background working in an administrative office setting would be helpful, bilingual Spanish and English languages would be helpful as well, but we are looking for the best overall fit for our companies.


Job Functions: 

  • Answering phones, helping callers and taking messages, adding appointments to calendars.

  • Printing employee time reports and totaling hours for payroll purposes for two companies

  • Gathering job site documents to organize and prepare billing templates

  • Sending invoices and supporting documents to various customers

  • Submitting invoices through a program called Open Invoice and other portals.

  • Human Resources support including but not limited to new hire paperwork / onboarding and compliance paperwork on current employees, benefit paperwork and coordination, maintaining employee files in a cloud-based system, frequent communication with employees and managers to facilitate the completion of all HR related issues

  • Scanning a heavy volume of documents and saving to Dropbox and uploading to other systems as needed

  • Collecting and organizing credit card receipts throughout the month and matching up to the monthly statement.

  • Computer software, including, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word and Google Calendar

  • Working in Quickbooks with reconciling vendor statements, entering utility bills and other vendor bills

  • Maintaining equipment tracking spreadsheet, bid versus T&M spreadsheet and other spreadsheets as needed

  • Preparing IFTA data into spreadsheet

  • Preparing invoices for customers

  • Helping with mailings

  • Matching bill pay checks with bills and preparing to mail

  • Assisting with Open Enrollment paperwork process

  • Filing

  • Office Cleaning

  • Other administrative duties as asked
